When the first prime minister of the independent India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was delivering his historical speech " Tryst with the Destiny" from the ramparts of Red Fort , Two young entrepreneurs just migrated from the villages of Gujrat started their own tryst with the destiny in the then mega polis Bombay. Ishwarbhai & Jugalbhai Barot started a tiny snack shop in the by lanes of Mangaldas Market then known as Ishwar Bhuvan. In tune with the progress of India, they also progressed and rechristened their food place as RAJDHANI serving authentic Indian cuisine in the traditional Indian thali. The rustic aroma of the food tasting as if cooked in their primitive village by their mother soon became a craze and Rajdhani thali became a household name.
With the induction of their sons Rajnik, Pankaj, Kamlesh & Ketan - all qualified degree holders from the reputed catering colleges, the business started flourishing.
With the advent of technology, influx of mall & BPO culture, opening up of multiplexes and the transformation of Indian ladies coming out to work breaking the barriers of home - the Indian food habits are changing fast. The average working people look around for healthy, sumptuous and affordable dining wherever they are.
Barot's old friend Mr. Om Goenka, a successful businessman in Bombay, smelled the aroma of ethnic Indian cuisine as a big business opportunity and invited Barots to join hands with him to embark upon encashing the opportunity of growing their food business.
They together formed a corporate entity called ENCORE and embarked upon a growth plan to have global presence.
With the merger of two business entrepreneurs family having four experienced qualified brothers with a brand legacy as their strength on one side & finance, skill, business sense, deep pockets on the other side they first prepared & structured themselves to take on the mammoth task. Mr Goenka also got support of his daughter Sucheta & son Gaurav an MBA from U.K. to join the board and actively involve in operations.
With the corporate structure in place, they together embarked upon a massive growth plan having many modules to suit every single outlet and vision to have a global presence. Rajdhani being their strongest brand, they also started a multi cuisine resto bar module named as FINE DINE to suit to taste of food connoisseurs , Rajdhani Snacklets was mooted as module befitting to the need of multiplexes, Rajdhani Kiosk model was created to fit in the food courts in the malls. They also ventured into industrial catering, outdoor catering, club catering, and Tiffin service to office goers. etc. Etc.
With the passage of time, they expanded and soon branched out in Baroda followed by construction of a 4 star eco friendly hotel property known as Revival in Baroda. In the following years they acquired another property at the marine drive chowpatty and opened their fine dining restaurant called FINE DINE With the fire in the belly, THEY soon opted for franchising and opened Indian restaurants in Vietnam & Australia.
They also ventured into hospitality sector by opening of a boutique property at the hill resort at Lonawala -near Mumbai called SWISS RESORTS and are looking up for other properties at Goa, Mahabaleshwar, Pune etc.
Within a short span of 18 months they have grown from 3 properties to 18 properties spread over 4 cities and have plan to achieve the number 25 by the year end in another 4 cities.
In pursuit of a global vision, they are looking up for properties at London, Dubai, New York and other major cities of the planet. |
